On February 20 2025, my two-year-old son Magnus stopped breathing in

my arms. He was born with Long QT Syndrome, a hidden heart rhythm disorder

that can cause sudden cardiac arrest without warning. That night it did. I

immediately administered CPR and didn’t stop for four minutes and thirty-three

seconds of the longest, loudest, most powerless moments of my life. 

There was no AED in our home.

There was no AED at the neighbor’s house.

There was no AED in the church across the street.

My son survived because God gave me the strength and guidance to keep going until first

respnders arrived. But survival shouldn’t depend on superhuman will or perfect timing.

It should depend on having the right tool within arm’s reach when seconds decide

everything. That night changed me forever. I’m Mark Griggs-husband, father,

and U.S. Army veteran. In the months that followed, I couldn’t shake one

haunting question: How many families are one hidden heartbeat away from

the same inevitable nightmare, with no AED anywhere nearby? That question became my

calling. That’s why I founded Lone Star AED Solutions LLC, a 100% veteran-owned

company with one non-negotiable mission:

to place automated external defibrillators within arm’s reach of every child, school, church, gym, workplace,

and underserved community across Central Texas - and eventually the entire state.
